Lifeguards
Glenview Swim Club is currently accepting applications for the 2026 summer season.
As a lifeguard, you will supervise, respond to emergency situations and enforce pool rules to ensure that members and guests enjoy a safe and fun environment. During the summer season, June to August, this position may be assigned up to a 30-hour work week, including evenings and weekends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lifeguard I (salary: $21.00 per hour + Spot Bonuses)

Supervise and ensure safety at all times

Assist swimmers who are in distress and administer first aid and emergency care as necessary

Professionally convey and educate members and guests on pool rules and regulation

Enforce pool rules, regulations and orderly conduct by members and guests
-
Maintain pool and surrounding areas in a safe and clean condition.

Respond to questions and inquiries about pool policies

Assist senior staff and supervisors as needed

Assist with cleaning and routine maintenance of the facility, including bathrooms, guard office, and pool surfaces

Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor by wearing appropriate uniform or attire for the position and exhibiting respect and enthusiasm

Maintaining daily records and reports
Head & Senior Lifeguard (salary: $23.50 per hour + Spot Bonuses)

All Lifeguard 1 duties, with the addition of:

Schedule shifts and shift changes

Act as a Team Leader

Train and provide guidance to new lifeguards

Provide shift cover in the event of a no show
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
-
Swim and tread water
-
Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
-
Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and with exposure to pool chemicals
-
Perform rescues involving the exertion of up to 100 pounds of force to move objects and retrieval of heavy items from 14’ of depth
QUALIFICATIONS

Current American Red Cross certifications or the equivalent Lifeguard Training and First Aid, CPR/AED for Lifeguards

Negative TB certificate dated within the past two years

Lifeguard1 must be at least 15 years old by April 1, 2026

Head Lifeguard must be at least 16 years old by April 1, 2026 and,

Have at least three years of experience as a certified lifeguard or two years of experience and possession of an instructor level certification

Possession of Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor or other continuing education
